For a second year Charlton Triangle Homes in partnership with Wettons has been successful at the London in Bloom awards. Building on last year’s silver award, in 2016 Charlton won both Overall Winner and Gold Award in the in London in Bloom, Urban Community category.

Charlton’s Director, Andrew Kimmance comments, ‘’ When I joined Charlton in 2003 the grounds were well maintained, but back in the early days I felt there was so much more potential, and how much more welcoming the area would be with more planting and colour. In Wettons we have found a contractor who understands this and has been willing to work in partnership to deliver for us and our residents. The London in Bloom judges stated ‘’ This large housing estate is a prime example of what can be achieved through hard work, passion and the desire to work together. Historically one of the no-go estates of south London, over the past 16 years it has become an impressive, well cared for and very desirable estate centred around a strong sense of community and its integral patchwork of green spaces….. community spirit is evidenced throughout , but there are a couple of hubs where this is exemplified such as the New Leaf Advice Centre and Charity Shop …. and café.’’.

None of this would have happened without the hard work , commitment and collaboration between Charlton’s Estate Services Manager, Frank O’Boyle and David Errington, Wettons Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and both should be congratulated on their achievement. ‘’
