Welfare, Careers and Training Advice
Get the latest advice on your benefit entitlement as well as support to make a successful application to the relevant agency or government body.
Debt Advice with Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
Budgeting skills together with a detailed financial assessment are just a couple of the tools we use to assess your income and outgoings, with a view to controlling debt before it controls you.
Training and Employment
New Leaf Advice Centre offers a number of training opportunities through local partnerships including Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLAB). The emphasis is on supporting people into employment through confidence-building during the training and the early stages of work including volunteer placements.
Citizens Advice Bureau
The CAB offer sessions on a range of topics and issues that have an impact on your life. These may include financial matters, relationship and family breakdown.
The Community Leadership Course is designed to provide presentation skills, build confidence and prepare candidates for various roles within the community. Other examples of what is on offer include ESOL, English and Maths.
Love London Working
No matter how long you’ve been out of a job or what barriers to work you may be facing, such as health, disability or single parenthood, our team can assist you.
With Love London Working we’ll support you all the way from offering training opportunities to financial support through to developing key skills like IT and work related training.
Health & Wellbeing Support
The New Leaf Advice Centre offers several stress busting therapies all designed to provide you with immediate action to address stress in the here and now.
Face-to-face sessions as well as telephone counselling are available as required. The service is intended as a starting point with any longer term counselling needs being referred onto other counselling agencies.
A health and wellbeing service offering support with a range of needs such as monitoring blood pressure, cholesterol levels and weight together with advice on dietary requirements, how to give up smoking and drug abuse.
The befriending scheme recruits and trains people from the local community and matches them with befriendees. Befriendees often access other services offered by the New Leaf Advice Centre as their confidence grows and they begin to reconnect with the broader community.
